Prescious Metals and Real Stones

At SPRKL, we take great pride in crafting our jewelry using only the finest materials. Our products are professionally produced with precious 925 sterling silver and high quality, ethically produced moissanite stones, ensuring both durability and elegance.

Gold Vermeil

Our vermeil pieces, featuring a rose or yellow color, are made by coating 925 sterling silver with genuine gold multiple times. This technique not only adds a touch of elegance, but also ensures that our jewelry remains hypoallergenic and free from any unpleasant discoloration. Unlike other gold-plated options, which may use brass as their base metal, all of our jewelry is crafted from sterling silver for a premium and long-lasting finish.

Moissanite

We only use genuine moissanite stones. Moissanite is a naturally occurring mineral composed of silicon carbide, treasured for its exceptional hardness, brilliance, and fire that make it a beautiful stone for jewelry. Its optical properties are similar to those of a diamond, but it is a more ethical and eco-friendly choice as it is grown in a laboratory.

Moissanite is naturally occurring, while cubic zirconia (CZ) is a synthetic material made of zirconium dioxide. Moissanite is thus considered a more genuine and natural stone than CZ. It is also considered a better stone than CZ due to its natural origins, superior optical properties, higher level of durability, and eco-friendliness.

Moissanite vs Diamond

Here are some potential reasons why someone might prefer moissanite over diamonds:

  1. Price: Moissanite is generally less expensive than diamonds. A one-carat diamond can cost thousands of dollars, while a one-carat moissanite stone can cost a few hundred dollars.
  2. Brilliance: Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamonds, which means that it reflects more light and has more sparkle. Some people prefer the intense sparkle of moissanite to the more subtle brilliance of diamonds.
  3. Durability: Moissanite is a very hard and durable gemstone, with a rating of 9.25 on the Mohs scale (which measures a mineral's hardness). Diamonds are slightly harder, with a rating of 10 on the Mohs scale.
  4. Ethics: Moissanite is an ethical and sustainable choice, as it is created in a laboratory rather than being mined from the earth. The diamond industry, on the other hand, has a history of conflict and human rights abuses in many diamond-producing countries.
